Eastern frame drum has been a constant color in soundtracks and music pieces all over the world. Applying our sampling philosophy to the various instruments of the frame drum branch has resulted in some very organic and fresh sounds that, when combined with our X3M drum motor, are a joy to play. One of our main goals was to have the same round robins in order to get as many play techniques as possible to allow us to write fast yet smooth and realistic sounding percussive arrangements. To achieve this, we carefully edited each individual sample of 10 circular robins by hand and performed as many iterations as necessary after rigorously testing the articulations in a real-world composing environment. In addition to this, another important goal for us was to expand the sonic palette of traditional drum sound by adding other instruments that enhance, but do not change the aesthetics of the main sound too much. Therefore, the DRUM X3M frame does not just consist of the same material that we have all heard countless times before, but contains new, but not yet heard, instrument combinations that vividly embody your percussion arrangements. The recordings took place in Sofia Session Studio, where we also recorded the previous X3M libraries for smooth and easy overdubbing.
